What I Do

As a digital native, I have an affinity for looking for creative solutions through digital media. From creating community on university campuses through music or applying digital media best practices to crisis public relations scenarios, I'm all about bridging the gap between the practical and the impossible.

Take a look at some of the various projects I’ve contributed to.

Joy and wholeness.

The Coalition for Physician Well-Being (November 2021 – present)

The Coalition is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt association of over 50 healthcare systems, hospitals, and professional organizations, represented by nearly 400 individual members, which is organized for the purpose of learning together how to build robust, sustainable programs in support of physician and advanced practice provider well-being.

With a focus on physical, mental, social and spiritual health, I serve as the Social Media and Program Specialist for the Coalition as an employee of AdventHealth. I support our members through delivering timely, salient social media content, facilitating webinars, podcasts, conferences, and more to ensure strategic structural change for the betterment of our healthcare providers. Healthy providers are necessary to the livelihood of their patients, and this work has become increasingly important in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Valencia College (July 2019 – November 2021)

In my previous role, I served as the Administrative Social Media Manager for Valencia College’s Accelerated Skills Training Programs. I was the subject matter expert for our social media presence, photography, videography, and brand awareness in accordance with College brand standards. I got to work up close with tons of students on a daily basis in hands-on, fast-paced learning environments – from welding bays to electrical power line grids, as well as in heavy equipment dirt fields and tiny, eco-friendly houses!

At the end of the day, I helped students get connected to hands-on careers that they can be passionate about – and pay well too!

Exploring Crisis Communication: Master’s Research (May 2016 – May 2019)

From 2016 - 2019, had the pleasure of working on a grant funded by the United States Department of Agriculture to research human behavioral approaches to reducing the rate of disease and pest incursions on livestock as a graduate research assistant at the University of Central Florida.

My master's research capstone revolved around empowering pork producers to prevent the spread of a recent epidemic virus using tenets of digital media best practices and strategic instructional risk message design. In the last nine months of my master’s program, I worked with my advisor and the grant team to develop multimodal training modules to aid pork producers in internalizing crisis messages and their importance while implementing actionable steps for producers to prevent the spread of diseases among their livestock, and educating others to comply with good biosecurity protocols as well.

I successfully defended this research on March 8, 2019 and presented it at the International Crisis & Risk Communication Conference in Orlando, FL on March 11 & 12, 2019.

Making Music and Creating Community: Mixed Mode (2015 – 2019)

In my free time, I have taken up the hobby of singing in my local college a cappella group. Or…at least it started out that way! My time in the world of a cappella opened me up to a world of possibilities for sharing music that uplifts people and tells the stories we've always wanted to tell. In August of 2015, I left my first ensemble to co-found the CARA-winning pop a cappella group, Mixed Mode. Since then, the ensemble has grown from a humble two members to having had over forty different voices contribute to the group, with multiple-award winning appearances at festivals all over the continental United States. I've met some of my closest friends and inspirations throughout my time in Mixed Mode, and together we've experienced a sort of synergy like I've never seen before. Mixed Mode is my brainchild and greatest personal accomplishment to this day, and I cannot wait to see what feats they accomplish in the years to come now that I’ve since retired from the group as a performing member.

Elevating Artists: The Vocal Company (February 2017 – December 2019)

My love for a cappella naturally sent me to The Vocal Company, where I served as the Marketing Coordinator — working remotely from my hometown in Orlando. TVC is an educational a cappella production company, offering services like studio production, arranging & composition, educational seminars, and live sound production for a cappella groups and festivals all over the world.

As Marketing Coordinator, I oversaw all of the social media and digital marketing efforts for the organization — serving at the front lines for all of our clients and fans. From there, I've learned that the key to maintaining a successful brand lies in marrying one's artistry with their business. While serving as Marketing Coordinator, I've gotten to hear the stories of groups from all over the country – constantly searching for new ways to help a cappella artists and choral educators reach their next level.
